Tyra Galloway

Tyra Galloway moved back to Dublin in 2010. Tyra has volunteered in Dublin City Schools as a room mom, chaperone, Silent Auction co-coordinator, and scholarship judge. She has also volunteered her time coaching youth basketball and baseball.

Tyra became a member of DEF in 2022. Having had firsthand experience, she recognizes and appreciates the hard work of teachers.

Tyra graduated from West Liberty University where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. She went on to obtain her MBA from Franklin University. Tyra spent 5 years teaching in Columbus City Schools and 2 years in Broward County Schools in Florida before getting married and staying home to raise her three amazing sons: Michael, Jett, and Carter. She found her way back into the classroom once her youngest son reached kindergarten. She is currently teaching at Hopewell Elementary.

Tyra loves sports, especially football and basketball. She enjoys watching her sons play sports and all the fun adventures she gets into with them.
